Great food good prompt service nice atmosphere for dinner

This was out fourth time here, this is a yearly outing with my wife and her mom. The menu changed this year and prices have gone way up, but quality and portion size remains the same as in the past. The "Ruth's Classics" menu of prix fixe items is not longer. The stuffed chicken that my wife and mother-in-law had was over seasoned with too much pepper. The service at the bar and table once seated was very good. This combination has led to a decrease in overall value and we will weigh other options before going back.

hands down the best place to eat near Madison!!! they were very clean and sanitary. it was a little on the expensive side but it was worth every bite and the portions aren't tiny.

The food was amazing!!! A little dark where we sat kinda hard to see but it was worth it.

This place is the best place in Madison to eat. May also be the most expensive. The food is quality, the service is top notch. And the drinks are very good. Expect to spend some money. You get what you pay for.

From the minute we walked into the restaurant we were very welcomed. Server and food was superb. Highly recommended. Little pricey but worth the treat for a special occasion.

I love Ruth Chris, and my experiences are usually perfect. Last night was HORRIBLE!! Our waitress Sarah was not attentive at all. I watched her talk to a co worker 7 minutes before even coming to our table!! The lobster Mac and cheese was watery ( which never happen) and she didn’t even offer to fix this when told. For the price of this place the service was unacceptable.

Very impressed they had live music, great drinks, amazing steaks. it’s nice to be able to go to a nice restaurant with your children they gave us a nice spot in the back private section so if the kids did get out of their seats we weren’t disturbing anyone. Made our dining experience great!

My FOOD was wonderful, my service on the other hand was absolutely awful. I was treated as less of a person because my servers assumed I didn’t have money. Forgot to bring out multiple meals that were ordered, brought steaks out rare when we asked for medium well, never asked if we wanted more to drink and charged me for a birthday dessert I didn’t order. I will NEVER return to this restaurant. I am offended and absolutely upset. On top of the rudeness, everything was incorrect for our splitting between families for our 500 dollar bill. HORRIBLE.

The spot is nice and broad, the meals was delightful and the rates were very inexpensive. quick, productive service and very welcoming staff. I recommend this place.

Very nice dining atmosphere. Overheard some reservation complaints by the front desk staff while waiting for my husband to park the car which was a little off putting. It did take quite awhile to get water but overall the service was professional and attentive. Like others noted, the meals are pricey but our menu selections (crab cakes and stuffed chicken) were generous and tasty. This was a special occasion dinner and not a restaurant we would frequent every day. Our style is a little more casual so having the crumbs removed from the table cloth after our bread was somewhat embarrassing. Overall, the food and service was top notch though and we will be back again to try their steaks.

Shame on you. Give the $ back.

Great food and great atmosphere too, but the service makes this place stand out...

The restaurant is beautiful. The cowboy ribeye is delicious but the fish is also a very delicate dish. My husband and I enjoyed our dinner very much. The white chocolate bread pudding with Tia Maria was a masterpiece. It is a pricey restaurant but ideal for special occasions!

The service is always exceptional. The food has lost it's way. I paid $150.00 for two meals that was actually worth 40.00 tops. Very disappointing. I always considered Ruth Chris a pleasure worth the price. Not anymore. Sad to feel disappointed after spending that much.

Young was an incredible server and made our experience even better! Food was fantastic.

My expectations were/are high, and our arrival was late. However, this location is where I experienced two firsts: I left Ruth's hungry (not necessarily hungry on second though just not stuffed), as well as feeling the need to apologize to my guest for speaking so highly of our anticipated dining event. Notwithstanding, I plan on returning to this location with an inspiring update, However, since our world ended abruptly, this comparison has been delayed. Ruth's prime bone-in Cowboy ribeye deserves at least a dozen second chances. Again, the hope is that we did not experience two visits that evening in Middleton, our first and last. Here's to us. Our prosperity and well-being through compassionate awareness, and a safe, if not speedy, follow-up filled with understanding. All the best.

Their food is out of this world when it comes to steak. They cooked my steak perfectly. Their parmesan crust is also very delicious, which I would add to any steak if you want a little extra flavor to your steak. I would definitely eat here again. They also have extremely delicious creme brulee.

Food was good but I e had better, got changed for a salad that should have been included. Over priced.

Rare steak was perfectly cooked- just melted right in your mouth. Service, food, and atmosphere are of the highest degree and are unmatched in the Madison area by other restaurants. Would recommend to anyone who wants to celebrate a special occasion or simply having an exquisitely memorable meal.

Bar area review- great service, atmosphere, food & drinks. Happy hour prices were great!Dinner review- never. Again. The hostess was arguing with us about which chairs to sit at once she took us to our table. She was not hospitable what so ever and that ruined the mood for my anniversary dinner with my husband. Food presentation was awful. Dirty looking plates (purposely made with specks in them) but made it look like grease splatter. The plates were SCALDING hot which means they sat under a warming lamp for a while. Way overpriced. Our server was wonderful, attentive and placed our orders correctly and quickly. I think he deserves yo work somewhere more high end. Recommend for happy hour and that's about it.

Excellent seafood appetizer. All steaks were delicious and perfectly prepared. Sides were good. Impressed by the friendly service and staff.

Restaurant week: Bad communication between staff, poor service, steak was burnt, had to wait for a long time between courses.... stuck there for 2.5 hours not by choice. Had to get up to have someone take care of the bill, not worth the $$!

I was not allowed to enter the restaurant because I was not wearing a mask. I don’t quite get this. Why would you require patrons to wear a mask into a restaurant when they would be required to remove it to eat? Kind of defeats the purpose but okay! So I asked if I could sit outside. They said yes, first come first serve. I found an empty table and sat down. Two different waitresses looked at me while they brought drinks to other tables. All occupied tables had napkins, silverware, glasses, etc. Mine had nothing so kinda obvious, right? I sat there for 10 minutes with no one approaching my table before I got up and walked out. Screw Ruth Chris Steakhouse..

Nothing special. I mean, the steak was good, but if it hadn't been a sponsored dinner, I'd be unhappy to have paid for it.

Disappointing ... my date ordered a Cowboy Ribeye ... server came back to say they were out ... Ordered a T-bone steak ... server came back to say they were out. I ordered a filet, Oscar Style. The filet was served without the accompaniment and was taken away to be returned much later. Asparagus was overcooked. Iced tea refills forgotten twice. Dessert served without utensils. I expected a better experience.

The restaurant was spotless and our waitress Sara was attentive and magnificent. Unfortunately, our food was marginal at best. Everything was cold and the dishes were either overcooked or undercooked. Sadly, our bill was pushing the $ 300.00 mark....booo!

This is the top spot for the most amazing steak in Madison! With Flemings now gone, you can't get a better steak. Great service, great food, classy atmosphere.

Excellent food. The filet mignon I ordered was cooked perfectly to order. My drink was always kept full (a little known requirement of fine dining). Highly recommended.

Went on a Sunday night. Hostess seated us at the table nearest the bar. They were playing loud 70's music in the bar and Frank Sinatra in the restaurant. Between the two it was just noise. Could here the cooks and kitchen staff and the noise from there. For a high end restaurant, the ambiance was non-existent. Total lack of awareness by restaurant staff on what guests want. If you go, sit far inside in a booth. DON'T LET WAIT STAFF CHOOSE YOUR SEAT!

I'll be honest I'm not a big steak person. And I'm less so a restaurant chain person. However, Ruths Chris had the best steak I've ever eaten. It was crazy good.The place is very expensive though. And it appeared as if they weren't strictly enforcing their dress code, but I'm not sure if that's a bad thing.Our waitress was very nice and very helpful.This isn't a place I'd really go to normally, but if I find myself craving a good steak it will definitely be at the top of my list.

To go order was great and not missing anything. Bread was awful. Steak amazing. Shrimp cocktail was perfect and well seasoned. Cesar salad crispy and garlicky. Bartender was super nice while I waited for my order.

Very good food, service and ambiance. Servers take time to make sure you know what's going on.

Expensive place to go if someone else is paying... 😊 I've only been for several sales seminars (very popular for retirement stuff). Food is very good steakhouse kinda stuff. My steaks have always been delicious! Good drinks, not outrageously priced. Courteous, helpful staff. It's a chain, in the chain wasteland of Middleton. If you want a traditional steakhouse, there are more authentic ones in Madison. See my other reviews... 😊

Just a beautiful place for dinner. The staff were great and our waitresses was simply amazing. And the food was awesome especially the sweet potato dish! Wow!!
